EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

AND OTHER HELPFUL FACTS...

Can I buy your products on Amazon?

The short answer- No.  Amazon charges a 15% referral fee for every item sold in addition to a monthly "storefront" fee for $40/month.  We remain dedicated to keeping our quality products accessible to everyone and keeping them affordable for everyone. We are not making any additional profit by not selling our products on Amazon, but are retaining the ability to give to local community gardens and charities by limiting third-party expenses.

Why don't you ship to some states?

The United States Department of Agriculture provides guidelines to the states regarding the import and export of live pants.  Non-native plants and invasive species that are highways for unintended hitchhikers can threaten fragile ecosystems. We respect our native species and want to protect them for future generations of gardeners!

How is shipping calculated?

To ensure that your order arrives in great shape, all of our live plants, fresh mushrooms, and mushroom cultures are shipped 2-day express mail via United States Postal Service.  Shipping is calculated based on the rate established by USPS based on your postal code. We do not add any service fees or added costs to ship. No surprises here!

My plant arrived looking droopy.

Changes in temperature during shipping along with moisture loss can cause our plant babies to look a little droopy, but don't sweat it! A little bottom watering will help your plants perk back up in no-time. Fill a shallow bowl or dish with distilled water about an inch deep. Remove the plants from the box and place the root bags into the water.  The roots will absorb the water within about 15 -30 minutes and begin to perk back up in a matter of hours.

I think I killed my plant. Now what?

Life and death are natural cycles and sometimes unexpected things just happen. Certain stressors like too much or too little water, heat, or nutrients can cause stress to the plant. In most cases, with a little adjustment, your plant should go from puny to perky again in a matter of days. If you're unsure what's going on with your plant baby, send us a picture and we'll give you some solid advice on nursing it back to health or we'll replace your plant.

Help! There are little bugs all over my plant babies!

Aphids and spider mites are common and love to feed on new plant growth. They are easily controlled with natural remedies such as a solution of dish soap and warm water in a spray bottle, or you can purchase other natural sprays like Neem oil.  Keep an eye out for little white flecks that suddenly appear around the base of your plant- these are sure indicators that you have an invader and to treat quickly! Many sprays also treat for other common pests such as powdery mildew and hornworms.

Do you accept returns/exchanges?

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, or something unexpected has occurred, we will gladly replace your purchase or exchange it for something different of equal value. When you're happy, we're happy!

Are your plants organic?

We are currently in the process of obtaining USDA organic certification. However, you can rest easy knowing that we never use pesticides or chemicals on our plants or in our soil. We use all natural fertilizers and pest repellants, just the way mother nature intended!
